Members Chicken Monkey Posted April 2, 2007 Members Posted April 2, 2007 I think I found my parlor guitar. It's an amazing-sounding and loud Fender Parlor at a local (not GC) store, for less than GC is asking. It comes with a gig bag, though, and that's not going to cut it. We pack the truck pretty tight. It doesn't look like MF carries a parlor guitar case, and the music store doesn't have one. The "concert grand" and classical case had a good inch of wiggle room on all sides, which I was uncomfortable with. Plus, the tiny little guitar case turns me on. Any suggestions?
Members DonK Posted April 3, 2007 Members Posted April 3, 2007 Wonder if that Fender is the same one I bought my son (actually bought it for myself, but ended up giving it to him). If so, that is one dynamite little instrument. I bought it on a lark after picking it up at a local store and falling in love with it - paid $139. The finish is a little thick, but a cool instrument nonetheless. On the case, I'd measure the body dimensions. I think they're close to a Martin 00 (which you can get at the Martin site). If so, you can look for a Martin 00 case on eBay.

Members Queequeg Posted April 3, 2007 Members Posted April 3, 2007 I purchased a nice (TDL, I think) hard shell case for my 2002 larrivee parlour from FQMS when I bought the guitar from them. fits like a glove.
Members Hudman Posted April 3, 2007 Members Posted April 3, 2007 Those Fender parlor guitars sound great. I almost bought one on impulse last year.

Yeah, that's that's the one (kind of classy looking). The store where I bought it carries Fender electrics, but normally doesn't sell their acoustics, though I've seen a few there. I think maybe they buy them to fulfill their contract with Fender (?). In any event, this one had a big tag marked "blowout". I picked it up and thought, "what a cool little instrument". My son and I agree it sounds better than my Baby Taylor. I still sneak up to my son's room to play it sometimes.
