OK, the M1A didn't do it for me...

I'm working on a pickup for a Martin DX1. The Baggs M1A got rave reviews and having and active pickup with on-board volume appealed to me, so I stuck one in. It mostly sounds pretty good, but there's a couple of nasty resonances getting picked up. I've got a 15 dB cut around 500 hz; that one's the worst. There's another, higher-pitched sort of "overtone" sound I'm having trouble finding and getting rid of. I might stick a computer-driven frequency analyzer in front of it to find it.

I really like the sound of the DX1 unplugged. I really hate piezo "quack." I can't use a mike because of feedback. Any thoughts?
