I bought mine froma co -worker, who as an Epiphone user, was considered for partial endorsement. He got a first choice, which are stock pieces that are "better" somehow than the regular, set aside for endorsements or something. No idea if this even valid, just what he said he was told by the rep.

$450 with that sweet case!I was lookign at a Breedlove, but for half the price, I settled. Now I come on here, and everyone raves about them, and after playing for a year, I know why, it is awesome!

Yeah, I know that for other brands like Larrivee, Martin, Blueridge, you can go to Notable Guitars or Maury's Music to get them - they are pretty reputable. I'm just wondering if there is someone similarly trusted for Epiphone Masterbilts.

IMO it really doesn't matter the manufacture as much as the site. I know MF will let you return a guitar no questions asked for 30 days. So if for some reason there is a problem with your Masterbilt or you just don't like it you can send it back for a full refund.

I just ordered one (EF 500rcce) from Music 123.

They have a 45 day return/ exchange policy, so if you don't like it, you can get a different one or your money back and only pay shipping back.

Because acoustics differ because of the increased importance of the wood, it is riskier to order sight unseen. But, for the deal I got on mine, it was well worth the risk, especially considering the return policy.

Conversly, by ordering online, you get a brand new instrument, devoid of the touch of other grubby hands. When you consider some of the customers of the big box stores, this seems like a huge bonus.

I should be getting mine this weekend, so I will let you know how it turns out.

I use my boyfriend's Masterbuilt. I love it. It's probably my 3rd favourite acoustic. Ranking just below Gibson's CL-35 and Hummingbirds. Best of all the Masterbuilt lives here, free to me! I'd seriously consider picking one up, but being that it's within arm's reach, it seems silly to go purchase my own.

There goes the neighborhood!

I'm getting a lock for my case after work!

Just kidding hon, you can always play it.

Local shops are rather "iffy" with regards to availability. The exception in my area seems to be Martin, Taylor, and Alvarez which are plentiful. OTOH, not many shops local to me carry a large selection of Epiphone's Masterbilt line. The only Epi in my area is an EF-500RAVS (abalone with vintage sunburst - YUCK!) that has "2nd" stamped on the back of the headstock. :idk:

I played it recently and it seems like it's been there awhile. I was pretty underwhelmed with it. It wasn't even in the humidified acoustic room and was instead hanging beside guitars that had laminated back & sides. What a shame. :(

$499.00 right now at Guitar Center. (While Supplies last.)

Use this to get the online dealers to price match. Music 123 gave me the 499 price. Plus, no tax and no shipping. And this is the brand new one, not the outlet sale used type.

I went to GC to buy it originally, but they don't even include the case. I'm glad it worked out the way it did.

If you are strongly considering this model, consider buying online somewhere with the price match before the GC sale ends in April.
