Members Queequeg Posted April 29, 2007 Members Posted April 29, 2007 A short while back there was some discussion here about the AGF and how stuffy & snobby some folks found it to be over there. I didn't really have an opinion one way or the other, because my visits there are somewhat sporadic.I happened over there today and found this thread, which kind of belies their reputation. So, I don't know if the mood of the place is changing or what, but it sounds like they are reprising this contest concept from a year ago.Its mildly amusing. I actually thought it read more like something we might find on this forum.
Members Hudman Posted April 29, 2007 Members Posted April 29, 2007 Those guys seem to be getting pretty laid back. I've been spending more time there lately. I tend to lurk more than I post. My only complaint is the no price discussion rule. Of course, that is a common rule on most guitar forums.
Members Dave W. Posted April 29, 2007 Members Posted April 29, 2007 My first time there, I think. My basic problem is that the software is almost identical, down to the colors. You could forget where you are and post a serious no no, possibly even get some demerits. Do they offend easily over there?
Members guitarist21 Posted April 29, 2007 Members Posted April 29, 2007 I'm afraid to do anything more than occasionally lurk on other forums. I'm practically addicted to this one. Ellen

Members guit30 Posted April 29, 2007 Members Posted April 29, 2007 I will not look at 812ce pics, I will not look at 812 pics, BEAUTIFULJim
Members Cripes Posted April 29, 2007 Members Posted April 29, 2007 Pretty funny. I have never seen an Esteban guitar or related product so I can only imagine the reasons behind on-going reactions to them. Conjures up memories of the old infomercials for Ronco products, though.

The first time I ever actually held one in my hands was this past fall when I was leading a middle school youth group and one of the middle schoolers playing with me had one. It wasn't quite as horrendous as they are all made out to be but it was still pretty bad. Ellen
Members babablowfish Posted April 30, 2007 Members Posted April 30, 2007 And speaking of addictions, I got some brass pins for my Washburn dread! As soon as the strings need changing they're going in. Ellen Cool! Please let us know how it sounds when you make the change.
Members Terry Allan Hall Posted April 30, 2007 Members Posted April 30, 2007 Up to page 2...hilarious!
Members AndrewGG Posted April 30, 2007 Members Posted April 30, 2007 I spend a fair amount of time over there; the only thing I find distasteful is that a disproportionate number of people seem to want to push their religion with little quotes from the bible and Christian themed guitars.I'm not interested, ok?I won't go to a religious forum and bore them with guitar-related stuff. If you've got faith, great, but keep it to yourself.
Members missedmyexit Posted April 30, 2007 Members Posted April 30, 2007 I have only read 3 so far but I have to say it has been some very good stuff.
