Members LiveMusic Posted May 1, 2007 Members Posted May 1, 2007 I just finished this song, please give me your honest opinion if you care to listen. This is just a quick, rough acoustic demo. Another one where I'm playing my $99 Fullerton Batsto geetar. streaming audio / lyric Oh yeah... and I'd like to know if you know what "cuttin' donuts" (as sung... will be redone as "cut some donuts") in verse two means. Cuz if you don't, I'll need to rewrite it.
Members Kozmo Posted May 1, 2007 Members Posted May 1, 2007 $99.00 guitar? Sounded pretty nice to me. It really is true that big brother seems everywhere these days. So, since you are questioning the direction that lord W (and previous presidents) have taken this old town, I may assume that you are a terrorist? (damn now we are BOTH on the watch list!!)( I used the "T" word) (no not TOWN dammit!)
Members missedmyexit Posted May 1, 2007 Members Posted May 1, 2007 I assumed given the context cutting donuts means doing donuts in a car. A couple thoughts on this song 1. I think a lot of your songs sound the same but that is more likely to be because I don't listen to that style of music and new styles always sound like. 2. As in all the songs I've heard from you so far your voice is perfect for the style of music you do. 3. I love how your lyrics tell a story but I thought in this song the story was all build up and not enough follow through. 3 verses about how the town was with many illustrations in those verses but 1 verse with 1 illustration on how it changed. 4. I don't see how "The rodeo called Billy Bob, the stage called Peggy Sue" verse fits into the story.
