Members outofthesaddle Posted May 15, 2007 Members Posted May 15, 2007 I was just about to pull the trigger on a Seagull S6 Cedar which I've been able to play at the local GC and really like. Before making the final trip and bringing it home, I was doing some internet pricing research and came across the S6+ folk with on-board electronics for essentially the same price. Looks like the folk is little smaller that the standard S6. The upgrade to the electronics seems pretty cool but I was wondering what to expect with the smaller size. http://www.andysmusiconline.com/PhotoGallery.asp?ProductCode=Seagull%5FS6CWGT

Members EvilTwin Posted May 15, 2007 Members Posted May 15, 2007 I've had an S6+Folk for a few years and love it. That said, as with any smaller-bodied acoustic, it's not going to handle flatpick work like a dreadnought. I put in some ebony pins and use bassier-sounding strings, and it helps...but I can still make the guitar squawk if I pick too hard. Overall, though, I still would take it over a Seagull dread. It's a fantastic fingerstyle guitar, and it can still handle some work with a pick quite well.

Good guitar with good tones.
