Members moost76 Posted February 13, 2007 Members Posted February 13, 2007 Hey all! Noob here...been checkin out the site for a while and I love it. Great info. Just bought a new Entourage Mini-Jumbo and I love it. I'd played a few Seagulls but this one fit me like a glove. I love the neck. It gives my long skinny digits a little more room to move. Just wanted to hear anyone else's thoughts on the Entourages. I've got a Takamine G330S that I really like but it hasn't left the case since the new baby came home!
Members Freeman Keller Posted February 13, 2007 Members Posted February 13, 2007 Welcome. Sorry, no thoughts on the 'gull but I'd love to see a pic. Is that the wide (1.8 inch neck)?
Members AugTPD Posted February 13, 2007 Members Posted February 13, 2007 The entourage has the "slim" neck, its 1.72 as opposed to the traditional 1.8. I've played that same guitar and liked it alot. I ended up buying the MJM6 because I wanted the gloss finish and the spruce top. I've been happy with it and I'm sure you'll be happy with the Entourage. Just be careful with the satin finish, it's not quite as durable.
Members KATMAN Posted February 13, 2007 Members Posted February 13, 2007 Cool buy! I've been cheking out the Artist series myself. How much did it cost you,if you don't mind me asking?
Members moost76 Posted February 14, 2007 Author Members Posted February 14, 2007 My Tak has a satin finish so I'm used to that. Paid $299 for it with a gig bag. Havin trouble finding a hardshell for it other than the Seagull Tric cases. Anybody know what cases fit the mini-jumbo body?
Members Bubbluz Posted February 14, 2007 Members Posted February 14, 2007 My MJM6 *just* fits in my dread case. I did buy a Tric case for it,it is the same one they sell for the 'Gull dreads too.
Members KATMAN Posted February 14, 2007 Members Posted February 14, 2007 I seen advertised in Musician's Friend, and the ad said it has a cedar top.Maybe I was wrong. I was thnking maybe a SKS might have a case to fit your acoustic.
Members AugTPD Posted February 14, 2007 Members Posted February 14, 2007 My MJM6 is also in a dread case and fits nice and snug.
Members ace1979 Posted February 14, 2007 Members Posted February 14, 2007 yeah pictures would be good...did you get the one with the "rustic" finish...do all the entourage series come with this finish? looks pretty sweet!
Members Jayers Posted May 22, 2007 Members Posted May 22, 2007 I just got one of these and got the deluxe Tric case, as well. Except it doesn't fit. I have to deform the case to fit it over the lower bout. When the case closes it hits the bout and then I have to pull it. I'm taking the case back. My question is: What are others using for a hard or semi hard case for the Seagull Mini-jumbo? How tight is too tight? I'm trying to find out, because I don't want the case to rub too tight and wear off the finish.

You may want to contact Seagull or take it back to the store of purchase, you should be able to can get another one, maybe it's a defective case. Hey welcome Moost. See ya around. Members Jayers Posted May 22, 2007 Members Posted May 22, 2007 Thanks for the welcome! I have emailed Godin and they have told me that, despite they way they word it on their website, they just use the Dread case for the Mini-jumbos. I think that perhaps their quality control on the cases is a bit off, or maybe they don't sell enough Mini-jumbos to justify a separate case or better control of case manufacturing tolerance. Or maybe I'm jumping to conclusions. Either way, the case they say fits, doesn't, and I really want one that does.
Members EvilTwin Posted May 22, 2007 Members Posted May 22, 2007 Cool guitar. I've been GAS-ing for one of those as a "do it all, fingerstyle and flatpick" guitar.
Members Jayers Posted May 22, 2007 Members Posted May 22, 2007 Ah, well. Word to the wise. Seagull just emailed me back and said that if I want a non-gigbag case for the Mini-jumbo, I should get a generic case, as the MJ is a "tight fit" in the dreadnaught Tric case. Oh well.

Check out Elderly Music they have cases to fit about any guitar you can think of. I'm sure if you give them accurate measurements they'll find you a good fit. I wouldn't be surprised if they've encountered this before and all ready have the answer.
Members Jayers Posted May 23, 2007 Members Posted May 23, 2007 Thanks! I HAVE called them and they have presented me with some options. They were very helpful, especially considering that I didn't buy the Seagull from them. Good tip!
