Members eccmac Posted May 25, 2007 Members Posted May 25, 2007 I installed a sweet spot in my Martin. When I plugged it in all I get is loud buzzing like when you have your finger on a live amp chord. Any clues?

Ground problem...might be a defective P/U, might be a installation issue (bad solder joint, possibly). I'd try re-installing it 1st, then if that doesn't work, replace it. I've used the "Sweet Spot" for years and they're generally an excellent UST.

What he said. Most likely a bad ground. The only problems I've seen with the DM Sweet Spot were some output issues where the pickup would cut in and out. I think it was a combination of a bad pickup and it having bad contact with the bridge/saddle. That was on a friend's guitar. I've never had any problems with mine, though.
