Members mfergel Posted May 28, 2007 Members Posted May 28, 2007 So, I hit the Guitar Center Memorial Day sale. They had some acoustic guitars with blems (some major, some minor). Anyway, I come across a 12 string for $50. Has a minor cosmetic crack running on the top. Nothing major.........black, electric/acoustic, cutaway......so, I buy it........come home and check out exactly what I got for $50 at Musicians Friend.............http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Takamine-EGC531SSC12-12String-AcousticElectric-Dreadnought?sku=512193 Man, I had no idea. Man, I know Takamine makes decent guitars, but like most, they have low end and high end guitars. Granted, this is no high end guitar, but I certainly didn't think I was buying a $700 guitar for $50...........SCORE!!!!!!!!!! Woohoo....................
Members Tangy Zizzle Posted May 28, 2007 Members Posted May 28, 2007 Congrats! I need to pick up a 12 string too.

Members jeffcoop Posted May 28, 2007 Members Posted May 28, 2007 Nice score! I walked out of the Memorial Day sale with a Parkwood PW320M for $380, 24% off the usual GC price of $499, and thought that I had done well. But I can't touch 93% off!
Members Tony Burns Posted May 28, 2007 Members Posted May 28, 2007 You got a fantastic deal- congratulations - 12 strings are alot of fun !
Members mfergel Posted May 28, 2007 Author Members Posted May 28, 2007 how much will it cost to have the top properly fixed? Not even sure and doesn't even bother me. It's nothing you can even see from a distance. I'm just going to run a black marker along the line. It's really small.
