Members EvanC Posted May 14, 2007 Members Posted May 14, 2007 Hey guys... 1st post, but I've been lurking for awhile... I was wondering if anyone else here has a Babicz? I bought an Identity Acute model last year and it's definitely my favorite acoustic... I played electric about 90% of the time growing up, so I've always had a problem with the action on acoustics. On the Babicz, you can adjust the action by using a hex-key to raise the fretboard closer to the strings... I still don't understand exactly what the purpose of the strings being fanned out across the body is, but it does sound pretty good, especially through my Line 6 spider on the clean channel... I was thinking about getting an Octane, which is like their electric hollow-body model... Does anyone have one? I wanted to try one out, but my local shop doesn't carry them... So I was going to do the 30 day "Test Drive" deal from their website... Thanks in advance for any feedback...
Members Honch Posted May 31, 2007 Members Posted May 31, 2007 Hi there! I am about to buy a Acute as well. Is it wider at the nut than the standard jumbo series or narrower like on an electric guitar? I have only seen/tried the Identity jumbo series so far. The Acute series seems more appropriate for fingerstyle and "classical" fingereing. But I don't know. Sorry for not answering you question about the Octane. Of course, I have neither seen nor tried one.
