Members scottiern Posted June 11, 2007 Members Posted June 11, 2007 Anyone play a af60s? I am interested in a smaller guitar and I have heard Alvarez makes great guitars for the price. I also am unable to find the nut width, I currrently own a Blueridge and am having trouble gettin used to the narrow nut. Thanks in advance for any info you might have.
Members guit30 Posted June 12, 2007 Members Posted June 12, 2007 It is a folk size of the AD60S, It has a skinny 1 9/16 nutJim-no better quality than BR
Members DeepEnd Posted June 12, 2007 Members Posted June 12, 2007 I'm not sure about Alvarez having 1 9/16" nuts. That's really skinny and I think they're probably wider than that. My Alvarez RD10 beater definitely has a wider nut than that. Most steel string guitars have a 1.68" (1 11/16") nut. Smaller Martins (000's, OM's) have 1 3/4" nuts, as do the more expensive Taylors. Most Seagulls have 1.8" nuts and Simon & Patricks (another Godin product like Seagull) have a 1.72" (1 23/32") nut.
Members AugTPD Posted June 12, 2007 Members Posted June 12, 2007 Yeah, I think that guitar has a 1 11/16" nut. If you want a wider nut on a smaller guitar check out the Godin made folk or parlor size guitars (Seagull, Art & Lutherie, Norman, Simon & Patrick).
Members guit30 Posted June 12, 2007 Members Posted June 12, 2007 Maybe the Artist series is different, though I used to have an AD60S, I have measured the nut of my RD20 and it is 1 9/16 inch, Jim
Members Rudygee2 Posted June 13, 2007 Members Posted June 13, 2007 No idea about the AF60f, but I have an RD20 like guit30, and it has a narrower nut than traditional 1 11/16". I found somewhere online that gave the spec as 1 10/16", but I dont remember what site it was.
