Don't know how those are but I love my Larrivee 5 string. Had it made back in 1989 and it is beautiful with a huge sound, very full. Fretless without markers and strung with a high C string (which we had D'addario make a bunch of for me at the time as they weren't really available at that gauge in such a long scale. I think Manring has one like it also. For fullest sound it does need amplification (has a Baggs passive under saddle pickup) but is OK just unplugged for jamming. Really neat for jazz. Rosewood/Spruce.

While it's not an acoustic I would suggest trying the Epi Jack Casady (semi-hollow body)for the simple reason it's the nicest sounding bass I've ever played.I may be new to gits but I've been at bass for over forty years. There ain't many I haven't tried/owned and believe me the JC is simply outstanding. Many have come and gone through those forty years but my JC is here to stay.

Found a couple of really cheap basses at :

Anyone have experience with one of these ? How does it play ?

Curious if they sound good acoustically and electrically ?

Prolly not gonna replace a P Bass but might add an interesting texture here & there . . .

If you are just looking for cheap try the Dean "Playmate" bass at Musicians' Friend. It costs less and has free shipping. I played with the Dean acoustically at a store and it was louder than the other models at this store even though it was the least expensive. The acoustic sound was good but I never plugged it in. With Musicians' Friend if you don't like it you can always return it.:wave:
