Members bernardo gui Posted June 15, 2007 Members Posted June 15, 2007 I need a good set of strings. Light to medium gauge strings. Something that's gonna make a low action acoustic/electric play and sound good. Something that's gonna be easy to play, like an electric guitar. This is for an Ovation acoustic/electric guitar. I bought it last night at Guitar Center. I'm getting excited about this guitar and all the possibilities..... RECCOMEND ME A KILLER SET OF STRINGS...........PLEASE.
Members Rickkkk Posted June 15, 2007 Members Posted June 15, 2007 I've been using d'Addario Phosphor Bronze Custom Lights (.011s) lately. I like them. Cheers !
Members athomas Posted June 15, 2007 Members Posted June 15, 2007 Martin SP lights (.012). Good Strings with a balanced tone.
Members StratAttackJack Posted June 16, 2007 Members Posted June 16, 2007 I use Martin SPs, the gauge differs. The only problem is that they don't seem to last as long, but when they're your favorite I guess that's the trade off. I had been recomemnded some GHS white bronze strings, and they sounded GREAT for the first 2 days but then the bass strings went dead as a doornail...the treble strings, however, sounded beautiful and crisp..and lasted longer than the Martin strings do. My perfect set of strings would the Martin SP bass strings and GHS white bronze treble strings.
