Members KATMAN Posted June 16, 2007 Members Posted June 16, 2007 I've got four all together, but if I could only choose one it would have be my resonator. I can play slide with it or tune to standard and get a good country sound out of it.I mostly keep it tuned in either Open G or Open D,depends which one I want to play. It's in Open G right now,I'm playing Eric Clapton's "Running on Faith". Which guitar(if you have multible guitars) would you keep?
Members babablowfish Posted June 16, 2007 Members Posted June 16, 2007 My favorite is my Yamaha FG-340. All laminate, beautiful deep tone, very comfortable neck. Not much sustain to speak of, but that tone is really something.
Members kwakatak Posted June 16, 2007 Members Posted June 16, 2007 Honey, is that you? I told you that my guitars weren't going anywhere! Sorry! I thought that my wife was lurking here!
Members Scodiddly Posted June 16, 2007 Members Posted June 16, 2007 There's the Taylor and then there's the beater. I think I'd keep the Taylor.

Good one! I don't have any expensive guitars,so my wife don't nag at me when I go shopping for a new one. I've been eyeing a GAD Guild, that will be my next guitar. After seeing how much brass instruments are, she's thankful I'm not into that kind of music. If I was,it would have to be a trombone.
Members jconway Posted June 16, 2007 Members Posted June 16, 2007 All I have is my Ibanez PF5ECENT besides by vintage Epi 12-String, so I'd have to say the Ibanez, which is a great guitar for only $300. I love it.

Fortunately for me, my wife has no idea (or even cares) what my guitars are worth. With her it's all about the "clutter."
Members SpaceCowboy409 Posted June 16, 2007 Members Posted June 16, 2007 I've only got three, so the choice isn't that complicated: 000-28EC
Members T.B. Posted June 17, 2007 Members Posted June 17, 2007 If I had to choose -thank goodness I don't - it would be my Guild DV-52. ______________________________Alhambra 9P (senorita)Guild F47RCE-TB DV-52L'Benito G234Walden G570TBYamaha FG150Cort 900 (parlor)
Members kwakatak Posted June 17, 2007 Members Posted June 17, 2007 All of my guitars are located near the front door in case of a fire. If I had to choose it'd have to be my Larrivee OM-03R but just in case, I also have my Strat in a gig bag with shoulder straps. Hey - it was a wedding present after all!
Members grickie Posted June 17, 2007 Members Posted June 17, 2007 My Martin OM-28VR, been through years of acoustics and was the sound winner in all catagories. I still check around to be sure but I've not found anything better
Members SlowFingers Posted June 17, 2007 Members Posted June 17, 2007 I have 3 in the house, a Seagull M6, Larrivee OM-3, and an A&L Ami (actually my kids guitar, but I play it more than he does). Now, the Larri is a better guitar, but I just got it the other day and have not grown attached to it yet. I am attached to my 'Gull though. If I could only keep one, it would likely be the 'Gull. Ask me again in a month, and my answer might change.
Members guitarist21 Posted June 17, 2007 Members Posted June 17, 2007 Easily my Epi Masterbilt EF-500R. Like a fricken Swiss Army knife, that guitar. Ellen
Members guit30 Posted June 17, 2007 Members Posted June 17, 2007 no choice to make, only got one Jim
Members AK47 Posted June 17, 2007 Members Posted June 17, 2007 I can't think of any reason that would reduce my number of guitars other than fire or theft which would take them all. If there was somehow a way that I could only save one of my guitars it would be my Strat. I find excellent acoustic guitars out there that I'm sure I could bond with. Plugged or unplugged my Strat is unique for it has a soul of its own. I would most likely die in a fire trying to rescue my guitars.
Members T0MCAT Posted June 17, 2007 Members Posted June 17, 2007 I'd keep my Ovation Baladeer, it's been my good buddy for a while now.

Members nazarethpa Posted June 17, 2007 Members Posted June 17, 2007 After a lifetime of collecting, buying and selling I have now retired with 8 acoustics that I am very happy with (my wife thinks there are only four but they all look the same to her), but one, that I bought new from Eric Schoenberg in 1980, is a Martin OM-28 Custom in Brazilian. It is quite the most extraordinarily beautiful sounding guitar I have ever played in the last 40 years (and that is lots). If the house burned down, I wouldnt want to lose any of these instruments, but that OM-28 would be the first I grabbed. For interest the guitars are:martin OM-28 Custom BrazilianMartin OM-18 GE Custom (normal tuners)martin OM-18 GE (banjo tuners)Alan Arnold Phoenix CustomTom Mates Custom 12 stringManuel & Patterson 00-12 fretTacoma all koa EKK-9Tanglewood TWSCVS (wonderful looking and sounding copy of a Gibson J185) Le ChatelierFrance
Members simplygoodmusic Posted June 17, 2007 Members Posted June 17, 2007 no choice to make, only got one Jim  Same! But hopefully that'll change soon.
Members jeffcoop Posted June 17, 2007 Members Posted June 17, 2007 Tough call for me. My Guild D25 is my sentimental choice--I've had it for 16 years, and it was my companion during my brief stretch of regularly playing live. It's comfortable and familiar. But the top cracked during the couple of years I shamefully neglected it, and though it's been repaired, it's lost a little something. In the meantime, my Guild D50 sounds fantastic, and the neck is very similar to the D25's (although in other respects it's pretty different--aside from the whole rosewood vs. mahogany thing, it's lighter, and it doesn't have the D25's slightly arched back). If I really had to choose, I'd probably keep the D25. I just can't see parting with it.
Members Terry Allan Hall Posted June 17, 2007 Members Posted June 17, 2007 I'd grab BOTH my Guild JF-4 and Taylor 355...the rest of 'em I'd miss, but these two are essential!
Members Tony Burns Posted June 18, 2007 Members Posted June 18, 2007 Sorry , thats a hard question to answer -that answer can change on a daily basis - today it would be my Larrivee OMv60 , yesterday i would of said my Martin OM28v
