Last week I had a hernia surgery, wich sucks, but one of the parts that I HATE is looking over at my guitar and knowing that just picking it up would hurt. Now I am not a great player by any means, but I know I am going to suck even worse once I could actually pick up my guitar.

Yowch. Can you play lying flat on your back? I do that sometimes...well, anyway, get well soon. (Anything that inhibits my ability to play always gets me on edge--next time I gat a paper cut or some such inconsequential thing, I'll remember your plight and count my blessings).

Actually, your git is going be really good therapy. In a few days when you can lift it, but still can't go outside and do whatever it is you would like to be doing (golf, mow the lawn, climb Mt Everest) you will be able to put a pillow in you lap and play a little.

To put things in perspective, a couple of years ago a friend, who is a fork truck driver in a fruit warehouse, has four bins of apples (each about 1000 pounds) fall over on him and completely crushed his leg. Every time I went to visit him, there he sat, leg in some incredible traction thingie, guitar in his lap. He said that perserved his sanity.

Get well quickly

In 1981 I had surgery for a hernia. It took a few days but I was back to playing. Playing was one of the few things I could do so I got alot of it in. My sucks part is I recently blew out the old surgery and will have to go through it again soon. I guess I'll get alot of playing in again.

I had my hernia repaired in the early 90's. I remeber the first day was horrible:eek: But by the end of the week I was doing pretty good:)
