Sounds real nice!

All solid woods, maple binding, wood soundhole rosette Tusq nut and saddle (I might get a Colosi Bone saddle down the road, but as is, its awesome.)

Im stoked.

My guitar is an 02' Simon and Partick Pro flame maple. In my opinion this is the best sounding guitar I've tried. Your gonna love that guitar. Give it a few years and let the top age a bit.

If you can't be good to yourself....who will be?

It is always a joy to get something new on your Birthday to remember it by. This one you will certainly remember for years to come.

The Upper Line Godin Products don't get alot of accolades here, since their pricepoint starts to compete with some very well known brands.

That said, I love that about them. I just got a top of the line Norman ST-68 for a fabulous price because it had sat in a store since 2005. Very similar to your guitar, but it does have Rosewood/Cherry/Rosewood laminated sides, to go with the Solid Spruce top and Solid Rosewood back, rather than being all solid. It also has the chunkier Norman neck profile as opposed to the slick and fast S&P neck profile.

Anyone who has ever played one of those S&P Showcase models or an ST-68 will know how great they are. Most people don't know how good they are. Like all really great guitars, they are rich, complex, and Very Sweet!!!

My 1999 S&P 6 Mahogany Cedar is a wonderful guitar, with a very complex dry tone. Those lower line S&P SP6 guitars are VERY tough to beat at their Pricepoint.I just love it. It is not however in the same league as the top of the line stuff, offered by either company.

That Showcase S&P will become an old friend. It will age gracefully.

My review of these kinds of guitars is very simple......I have never played one that I would not keep.

Cheers!!:thu:

Mine is a 1996 Cherry/Cedar and just keeps getting better. These are hugely underrated guitars

Thanks all for the comments!

Playing it some more, Im really really happy with this guitar. Its nicely balanced, not boomy like my old 70's Fender F-75 or any other dreads I have played, except maybe a Larrivee D-03.

This one is definitely a keeper. GAS is subdued. For now....;)

Thanks again for all the well wishes!
