Members Pablo Pol Posted June 28, 2007 Members Posted June 28, 2007 I will buy a Martin D28 and I will put a Fishman system. Anyone has tested these two?I
Members missedmyexit Posted June 29, 2007 Members Posted June 29, 2007 The fishman Aura came stock with my Martin OMC. That system changed my whole outlook on acoustic amplification. I was always a "Mic it" player. The Aura just sounds so good. I believe in the after market systems with the pre-amp you can download models of their website to get the most accurate "Images" of your guitar. I know they have the D28 up there.
Members Pablo Pol Posted June 29, 2007 Author Members Posted June 29, 2007 What does these "images" to the sound?. My doubt is if it really worth the $100 difference between one and the other. Thanks for the reply
Members missedmyexit Posted June 29, 2007 Members Posted June 29, 2007 Basically what they did (In my guitar's case) is bring it into the studio and record it MICed with top end Mics at different distances. Then they modeled the pickup to sound like those recordings. So I have 6 switch settings that give me a different "MICed" sound plus a "Blender" button that will let you use different degrees of "Clean" pickup sound with the Aura. I almost always go full Aura though it sounds much more natural then the pickup.
