Members porterrex Posted June 29, 2007 Members Posted June 29, 2007 Hi,I run into a used Takamine EF381C (12strings) with a N4B PREAMP http://www.takamine.com/?fa=elec_n4b and I tried to hook it up on my Fender Performer but nothing happened - not a single sound came out of the Fender ... The pre-amp has a lamp and a testbutton and when I push it nothing happens. YES, I have changed the batteries (twice) to rule out that. Is there a trick to make it work or is it just broken? I have some electric guitars so I know how to hook up a guitar to a amp but has I missed anything. Happy if someone can push me in the right direction.
Members Terry Allan Hall Posted June 29, 2007 Members Posted June 29, 2007 Good news and bad news... 1st the bad...if you've put in good batteries and nothing comes on, it's pretty likely that the pre-amp is DOA... Good news is that you can buy a new Tak pre-amp and have it installed...there are a few different models and they are all (AFAIK) the same size, so you can even get a better pre-amp than the original, if you choose to!http://www.takamine.com/?fa=elec_install
