Members DonK Posted June 29, 2007 Members Posted June 29, 2007 Don't know how many of you may have already gotten this, but these are some nice guitars, if a bit on the pricey side (to put it mildly). I especially like the OM in walnut and alpine spruce: http://www.elderly.com/new_instruments/martin1833
Members Freeman Keller Posted June 29, 2007 Members Posted June 29, 2007 I'm a Martin lover and these are beautiful guitars, but I'm sure glad I'm not in the market for anything because frankly I'm totally confused by all the permutations. All the artist models and store customs and Vintage and Authentic and 1833 Shop and the stupid cowboy and Felix things - it just seems a bit like it's out of control. And pricey, yes, but you have to believe that these puppies are totally hand made so they are as close to a luthier built as you are going to get from Martin without going the whole Custom route.
Members Freeman Keller Posted June 29, 2007 Members Posted June 29, 2007 Saw this on UMGF - a little more information about the "1833 Program" http://p082.ezboard.com/ftheunofficialmartinguitarforumfrm4.showMessage?topicID=39572.topic

Yup. Big Martin fan here, but let's get real. Those prices are outrageous and a top luthier can bring you the goods for significantly less. YMMV.
