Members Jack is Awesome Posted July 3, 2007 Members Posted July 3, 2007 Yo, so im in a bit of a desperate situation here, my electric amp stopped working just before, and i have band practice soon. The only amp I have is an AER Compact 60 Acoustic amp, i know the electric woudlnt sound great through it.. But i dont have much choice. However, would i damage it if i ran a distortion pedal through it? Cheers,Jack.
Members recordingtrack1 Posted July 3, 2007 Members Posted July 3, 2007 A pedal, in and of itself, is not going to damage it one bit. However, how loud do you typically play? If you are thinking like, . . . Marshall Stack, then you might want to find another alternative, because you'll likely blow your speakers, as they are only 8". BTW, you're probably right that it isn't going to sound very good. RT1:eek:

I've only played my large Artcore AF75 through it with some chorus and this while alone in my livingroom. I wouldn't use a Les Paul cranked with an overdrive pedal.
Members OldGuitarPlayer Posted July 3, 2007 Members Posted July 3, 2007 I actually did sound for a band where the guitarists "electric rig" was a small Trace Elliott acoustic amp and a whole wack of effects pedals including distortion. Now...he was not playing metal (more blues/light rock) but it was enough to get over the drummer...and it really did'nt sound too bad. OGP
