Members jdjonsson Posted July 3, 2007 Members Posted July 3, 2007 Hi, I've got a very buzzy bridge on my Garrison G-20, and I've started to think that it's the string ball-ends buzzing against the pins inside. Is this a problem anyone else has encountered?
Members Terry Allan Hall Posted July 3, 2007 Members Posted July 3, 2007 I've had two guitars brought to me with (it turned out) that problem, so, yeah, it can happen.

Members Terry Allan Hall Posted July 3, 2007 Members Posted July 3, 2007 Aha! How did you fix it? Loosen strings, pull ball-ends up snug to the pins, tune back up.

Members Dave W. Posted July 3, 2007 Members Posted July 3, 2007 Get a mechanics mirror (mirror on a stick) and a flashlight. Look in through the sound hole so you can see the strings from the side. With proper lighting you will be able to see when the ball ends are pulled up tight against the bottom of the saddle. I do this every time I change strings, yes, there is something wrong with me.
Members Freeman Keller Posted July 5, 2007 Members Posted July 5, 2007 It is actually a fairly common problem. It helps to put a little kink in the end of the string before you poke it thru the hole and carefully orient the pin slot. I've gone to slotted bridge and non-slotted pins on several gits which helps eliminate the problem, but mostly its just being careful to pull the strings up against the b/p as you insert the pins.
