Members Chrisf_999 Posted July 5, 2007 Members Posted July 5, 2007 Does anyone have any experience with these? I'm looking to pick up a left handed classical without spending a fortune.Chris
Members OldGuitarPlayer Posted July 6, 2007 Members Posted July 6, 2007 I had one for awhile to try learning some fingerstyle and a bit of classical. I eventually traded it in. I now have a Takamine G124S. Although the Valencia are a decent enough looking guitars they are not the greatest sounding. They are made of laminate and the one I had had a nice neck, decent action and was well built....quite heavy actually. On the other hand...I wouldn't mind trying out the Valencia model that has onboard electronics as to me that seems like a good bargain. If you are just starting out I would suggest looking at a Yamaha in the same price range as they sound better....at least to my untrained ear OGP

Members Phlat Phive Posted July 6, 2007 Members Posted July 6, 2007 If Valencia guitars are made of laminate, like OldGuitarPlayer says (I have no personal experience with 'em), I'd look for something else. Yamaha's are usually a good bet in the lower price ranges.
