Members jedistar Posted July 8, 2007 Members Posted July 8, 2007 I'll be travelling to LA, New York and Washington (from Australia) in December and would like to pick up a Martin D28 or HD28/V while I am there. Obviously there are places like Guitar Center for new - but are there dealers that have a good range of used Martin's? Any price difference East coast v West? Am going to have to ship it home.. cheers
Members Tony Burns Posted July 8, 2007 Members Posted July 8, 2007 im sure we could come up with a few names , but when your talking about used instruments , they tend to move rather quickly -especially HD-28's , their hot right now as well as D-28's ( the HD-28 is one of my favorite Martin models - hope to pick one up in the next couple of years ) the difference between new at 60 percent off and used prices are very close - you might want to look at new because of the availability question , for a few hundred more youll have better choices - plus from a decent dealer you could probably have it shipped right to your door cheaper than you could to buy it here , pay the taxes, pay the duties and take it on and off planes. Which goes to say it might be easier to buy it on the net from a decent dealer and just have it sent to you in Australia . Just my two cents.
Members jedistar Posted July 9, 2007 Author Members Posted July 9, 2007 Thanks I'd love to go new but thought I would save used. Are their cheaper dealers than MF , Music123, Guitar Center etc? is 60% off realistic?
