Funny. I used to spend time in GJ, EJ and the Amp forum. I forget which one of those it was in, but someone once posted, "hey guys, I just checked out the acoustic forum, and man is that place weird. Those guys don't even have avatars." This was a few years ago, as most people here DO have avatars now.

"we should organize ourselves and invade the acoustic forum."

:evil::D
We need to prepare ourselves for an invasion!

Ellen

No, we should invade them instead.

I love electric guitars. Excuse me for getting a little confrontational and arrogant but I challenge any of those guys to a duel! I will out-shred the shredders!

That would introduce a degree of civility they're not accustomed to in that forum!

...and to fit in, we would have to adopt avatars of scantily clad underage little girls, bending over while looking over their shoulder. :rolleyes:

Nothing to prepare for Ellen. The majority of metal heads have more shred than substance. :D Unplug their amp and you'll hardly notice they're there.:lol::wave:

Do you think there could be an inquistion?

I still can play my Dickey Betts riffs? Turn up the Orange and warm up the tube distortion

Civility! Never thought about that. Good point. Might cause a sudden surge of activity at Wikipedia.

Just ask them who can play in a blackout..... not them.... I play acoustic and electric guitar, ad electric basses along wit an upright, now I think there would be a lot more volume from acoustics when the lights go out, they'd be stuck with 'fwappa fwap fwap' as their pis bounced off their strings with no music.....

Ugh, shredding.......so........lame........

Let them go for their silly halfstacks. I'm going to warm my twin reverb up. The first one that gives feedback loses. :)

I love my acoustic, but playing late at night can be dicey what with a whole family trying to sleep and all. The only alternative seems to be to take the guitar outside and risk get eaten alive by mosquitoes though.

So I had a friend rig up a cable that allows me to hook up my electric directly to my laptop. Then I put on my headphones, fire up Reaper, turn on a couple of effects and play as aggressively as I want with no worries. It's also nice to be able to just plug in and hit record whenever an idea hits me.

I don't see it as a replacement for my acoustic since I do prefer the natural tone, though. There's also this issue of I/O latency lag that I can't seem to nail down. It works in a pinch though.
