Members guit30 Posted July 16, 2007 Members Posted July 16, 2007 I took my Alvarez over to my friend's house who I play music with and had him look at it. He definitely agreed that it could be set up a lot better, He is going to take it to Cintiollis' guitar tech(Philly's biggest Taylor dealer) and let him look at it. Hopefully he can get it like the other Rd20s that I have hadJim
Members garthman Posted July 17, 2007 Members Posted July 17, 2007 You should really learn to do set ups yourself - easy, cheap and very satisfying.
Members guit30 Posted July 17, 2007 Author Members Posted July 17, 2007 Garthman, I can do a basic setup except I don't mess with nuts. (No pun intended) I had a pro set up last year and was amazed at how good a job the guy did. So I would rather have it done right the time and then usually , I can tweak it from thereJim
Members guit30 Posted July 18, 2007 Author Members Posted July 18, 2007 Well, Cintiollis has it done, will pick it up hopefully on Thursday, only 16 bucks for whatever they did to lower the action, it's a shame the guy at Musicarts changed, This is a clone of the guitar he set up last year, but this year, didn't want to touch, saying it was well set up and restrung it with lighter strings, I think health problems had something to do with it, He was coming back from surgery and picking what he wanted to work on'Jm
