Members whit townsend Posted July 23, 2007 Members Posted July 23, 2007 On a budget? Forget those cheapo acoustic amps and try this: http://www.americanmusical.com/item.aspx?i=PEV%20PR10PN&src=D0407FG0HAMS0000PEV%20PR10PN My friend got a little Fender Acoustisonic 30 and it just wasnt cutting it, not loud enough with elec guitar and drums in the band. We went and demoed some amps and found that his Taylor 310ce thru this Powered Speaker sounded great, very clean and LOUD.Its an amp, its a monitor, its a one person PA. If you need to add a preamp, eq and effects in the chain, you still come out ahead. This thing way out performs any acoustic amp in the same price range. To do any better you'd have to spend 2x as much or more. I'm not shilling for Peavey, I'm sure Yamaha or somebody makes something very similar. Just found this was a good value, and sometimes it pays to think outside the box a little.
