Members bwalsh142 Posted July 29, 2007 Members Posted July 29, 2007 looking for a good acoustic for 300 bucks, hoping to go to guitar center and pick one up, but I'd bet you guys know online places with much better acoustics so both suggestions are welcome. Thanks.
Members les_rokr Posted July 29, 2007 Members Posted July 29, 2007 About a year ago I walked into Guitar Center and found this pretty decent Ibanez PF model for a little over $300. I kept talking to the guy in the acoustic section, and I was able to haggle off whatever was over the $300 and the tax. My Ibanez has a 4 band EQ, phaser, onboard tuner, as well as both XLR and 1/4" outputs. I think it's pretty good for $300! But then again, that was a year ago. They may have some more options at better prices now.
Members drnihili Posted July 29, 2007 Members Posted July 29, 2007 typical recommendations are Walden, Alvarez, Art & Lutherie, Seagull, Washburn. For a bit more add in Guild GAD series and Epiphone Masterbilt. Parkwood also gets a lot of good press, though I don't remember what they run. My personal favorite is Walden, but within that group there are lots of different opinions as to which is best. Go to GC, play as many as you can for as long as you can, then come back and tell us what sounded good to you. from that we can probably give you more helpful suggestions.
