Members whyareyoualive Posted August 2, 2007 Members Posted August 2, 2007 how do you ajust the height of strings on an acoustic/?
Members garthman Posted August 2, 2007 Members Posted August 2, 2007 Unless the guitar has an adjustable bridge you have to either remove a few mm from the base of the saddle to lower the strings or use a shim (or, better, buy a new, higher saddle) to make the strings higher. Look in the "Is my guitar sick?" thread for info.
Members rjoxyz Posted August 2, 2007 Members Posted August 2, 2007 Sometimes, you may have to cut the nut slots deeper if the action is too high in the first few frets. Much less common than the need to take a little off the bottom of the saddle--also requires the use of specialty files.
