Loving the Taylor DN-4

For the past few months I've been researching new acoustics. I've owned several, but never an all wood premium brand guitar.

 

 

I've been looking at the Martin D-15 mahogany, the Martin D-16GT, and the Larrivee D-03. Previously I've not been terribly intersted in Taylor. Would like to keep it somewhere around $1,000. I want to buy a plain acoustic and have a pickup installed seperately.

 

So the other night I played a Taylor DN-4. I was just blown away - loved that thing. This could be my next guitar, even though it's a bit more expensive.

 

Now, no local shops stock a Taylor DN-3, which is the slightly less expensive model. Has anyone played one compared to the DN-4? How is the DN-3?
