Members strat2 Posted November 21, 2004 Members Posted November 21, 2004 Hi all , I have the CT-4B electronics .My guitar chord no longer goes in all the way, something in the receiver is messed up . A chord pin will go in lacking the last 1/4" of travel.I removed the three screws that hold it , to see what I could see.The receiver won't come out either,do I need to unhook something inside the guitar to be able to pull the receiver.Where can I buy this jack online ?Are there any installation tricks that I need to know, or is there a way to fix the existing jack? Thanks, Ted
Members Terry Allan Hall Posted November 21, 2004 Members Posted November 21, 2004 Replacing it is easy enough, but rather than replacing it with another Tak jack, buy a Switchcraft one...just a few $ more, but I've replaced a lot of Tak jacks with these and they seem to hold up a lot better.http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Electronics,_pickups/Preamps:_For_transducer_pickups/Switchjack_Endpin_Jack.html

I've just used a zinc-plated washer to cover the screw holes....looks fine to my customers, so far. Home Depot sells 'em in packages of 10 for less than a buck.
Members strat2 Posted November 22, 2004 Author Members Posted November 22, 2004 Right Terry , I guess that's the way I'll go.There's some kind of keepers holding the wire in place so I can't seem to pull the jack out I'll ask again in a few days if I can't figure it out once the new jack shows up. Thanks, Ted
