Members g6120 Posted August 6, 2007 Members Posted August 6, 2007 At Neil Young's "Songs Of The Times" list. Thank You everyone who helped me out with a click. This is exciting for me and I can't believe my song went from "New Listings" all the way to #113.So sorry if some of you feel this is "Spamlike" but man I am so damn excited and thrilled I wanted to share it with you. Never thought I'd get that far up the list with so many songs. Song is called "Where Is Your Soul?" and is a song about my disdain for greedy people. Check it out if you have time at #113: http://www.neilyoung.com/lwwtoday/lwwsongspage.html
Members OldGuitarPlayer Posted August 6, 2007 Members Posted August 6, 2007 Hey G,Let me be one of the first to congratulate you. Keep the good songs coming. You have made a convert out of me with this YouTube stuff....I am going to add a video or two soon to my YT channel. It's a fun new medium and like someone else said a cool way to share guitar related info and also just to make new friends Regards,OGP

Members recordingtrack1 Posted August 7, 2007 Members Posted August 7, 2007 Hey g6120, I just listened to the song "Where Is Your Soul?". I have to tell you without a doubt, it is a very good song. Probably one of the best I have heard since I started coming to the HCAG. I hope you don't mind that I say that it is very Neil Young sounding, which IMO is a good thing. I don't know if that is what you were shooting for or not, but I am firmly of the opinion that is what you got. Regardless of that fact, the song is solid and holds up quite well, beginning to end, both musically and lyrically. Lyrically? . . . is that a real word? Anyway, very impressive! RT1:thu:
Members Cripes Posted August 7, 2007 Members Posted August 7, 2007 I listened to it on the other thread. Congratulations. It's a good song. Seems I remember a similar scenario when my songs got loaded on Soundclick a couple years ago. One reached something under 100 in the ratings. Had some guy leave an e-mail making like he wanted to buy the song, too. Actually, my brother did the recordings of me and posted them everywhere. I even used his gear. I didn't want to go through the BS so he said he'd make like he wrote them and let me know how it all went. Never did find out about the songs. Soon after that I joined forums, like this one, and continued where he left off. That Soundclick episode made me want to see if there was any reality or purpose for its existence. Hell, if nothing else it's kind of cool being "out there". But, I wonder how songs get rated besides simple viewer/listener mouse-mashing.
Members MattSkibaIsGOD Posted August 7, 2007 Members Posted August 7, 2007 great song. I've listened to it a lot lately. It's protest-y without being preachy, which is quite awesome. congrats.
Members g6120 Posted August 7, 2007 Author Members Posted August 7, 2007 Thanks so much for all the encouragement and kind words. This is probably the luckiest I will ever get with my online music stuff! I'll enjoy it while it lasts.
