I love my "new" pawnshop guitar!

Just before leaving on this long driving excursion back in July, I bought a Fender F-15 (no, it doesn't fly) at the local pawnshop, as a travel guitar to replace my tonally deficient 3/4 Applause. I don't know much about it--It's obviously pretty old. A few dings. Smaller than a dread, adjustable saddle, chintzy but functional tuners, solid spruce top (I believe), laminate hog back and sides (I believe), and MIJ. Sweet neck, excellent playability. Had a bit of low-E buzz down low but a few turns of the saddle screws fixed it. I tell you what--I love that little thing. It's my bedside guitar now too. They wanted $62.50 for it, and I offered $50. Got it for $55. Even came with a chipboard case, a well-worn strap, and 7 or 8 new strings.

So very much happiness for so very little money. (Most tanks of gas on this trip were more than that!)

You never know where you'll find a treasure.:) Congrats:thu:

I have 2 guitars that I've bought at pawn shops. Yes, they are 2 of my favorites and were great deals. Usually pawn shop guitars suck but every now & then.

Nice story.

I once played someone's fender acoustic that was decent enough. It was set up with close action for excellent playability.

Congratulations on your NGD!!!!
