Buzzing!

Get this, I'm playing and noticed there's some buzzing. No big deal, it happens.

But I listened carefully and the buzzing is coming from the bridge and not the fretboard.

Is this from stringing the guitar incorrectly??!

A common cause of buzzing from the bridge is not pulling the ball end of the string up tight against the bridgeplate before inserting the pin. So I would say probably yes.

+1

This has happened to me before too.

I realise I could just loosen the strings and check, but I'd probably make the same mistake again.

Thanks fella's.

Loosen the string, pull the pin out slightly, pull up on the string, push the pin back in, tune up. When you string it from scratch, bend the string about an inch from the ball, make sure it is pulled up against the bridgeplate and continue to pull slightly as you insert the pin.

I always make the bend in the string so the ball sets cross wise against the plate so the rounded part rides against the pin - that helps the little cylinder of the ball wedge the pin sideways. Not anal about this, but just how I stick it in. I am anal about making sure it is up tight.

Other sources of buzzing around the bridge are a loose bridge or saddle, wires from an UST, broken brace, or pickguard coming loose. All are ugly - hope it is just your stringing technique.
