Members Jacked Posted March 15, 2007 Author Members Posted March 15, 2007 they have a website: elvenwoodmandolins.com I know they make guitars, there's one hanging in a local store, and there's one website I found that had a pic of one guitar, but their website does not refer to guitar making at all that I could find. There is no HC review database for them...
Members bocabill Posted August 23, 2007 Members Posted August 23, 2007 I have an Elvenwood that I purchased from Jeff Pinkus? The guitars were build in the Gibson factory in Korea. Solid spruce top, mahogany sides and back. Rosewood fingerboard. Mine is a dregnought size model #ys 200. Beautifull workmanship, great tone, low action. Sounds and plays like a $1,000.00 plus guitar.I have had professionals play it and they are blown away by the sound. My buddy says it sounds better than his Martin.Jeff made only 122 of this guitar, he wanted to concecrate on the mandolins. As to value today, who knows. The guitar was $600.00 new. Mine is mint and I have not heard anything as good yet. I've played Martins, Taks,Ovation, Breedlove and others. Although I just acquired a S.Yairi yd-85 that comes close.Thats all I know, bocabill
Members Raj Posted August 26, 2007 Members Posted August 26, 2007 They were banned when the trees of Mirkwood were added to the CITES list. Anyone transporting them across international borders is taken away by tall blond customs agents with pointed ears and longbows.
