I'm so frustrated! I've got a guitar waiting at the UPS warehouse right now.Looks like arrived in town last night, but no delivery until Monday! I guess I'll just go to Guitar Center and buy some strings for preperation.

What else can I do to get my mind off this GAS??

(Oh yeah, I already drove by, just in case they were open on Saturday)

Oooooh, gotta feel for ya there pal. I just got my guitar off EBay shipped to me after a two month wait. I love the guitar by the way. Hope you have the same luck!

You could have ordered it Saturday delivery but I doubt you would have wanted to pay the price. Then again, I know UPS doesn't deliver Saturdays in some areas.

I won't use UPS ever again. Every time I hear the name I check my shoes to see if I stepped in something odiferous. I'll pay the extra dough to use their competitors.

I use fedex for sending and receiving usually. It' actually a lot cheaper then UPS ($25 for Fedex and $45 for UPS to send a guitar...) And i find Fedex to be more reliable and actually finish their job with care. My UPS guy just drops off a package at the door and leaves, even if it's insured for $500...

I'm with you on FedEx, and they deliver on Saturday as well, as long as the shipper pays for it (not sure if UPS will, but if they do, you can bet it costs more). However, either UPS or FedEx will leave a package at the door if that's how the shipper arranges it, and both will require a signature if the shipper requires it. I recently bought a DSLR from Amazon, from whom I buy a lot of stuff (I hate going to retail stores), and unlike 98% of my purchases from them, they required UPS to have me sign for it. UPS called me the day of the scheduled delivery to tell me a signature would be required.

Fed Ex is cool. many years ago I had a tube pre and tube compressor delivered on a Saturday before 10 am deal. I ordered them on a Friday eveing and that night we go a major Northeastern snow storm. With over a foot of snow on the ground my street unplowed, down the street comes the Fed ex guy at about 9:30 am:)

I'm not so sure UPS/Fed Ex tracking software is a good thing. ;) It's nice if the sellar uses either depending which day the delivery date falls on. My last purchase the seller was kind enough to use Fed Ex, my purchase arrived on Sat. from Sandy Utah. Talking about over the hills and through the mountains to grandmommy house ................ Hang in there John.

I don't know, the last two shipments that came in via UPS were just fine. The first was a pair of PA loudspeakers, 1 of 2 and 2 of 2. I received the 2 of 2 in a reasonable length of time. It took several days to determine that 1 of 2 was dropped of at the local Home Depot. No, no similarity in address. The closest similarity was the same city and zip code.

The last one, being shipped from Phoenix AZ, here to SoCal, about 450 miles, took three weeks. It got to an LA area distribution center in about a week and then went to Salt Lake City, Denver and other environs before it found it's way to me.

Fed Ex has not been too much better with several packages just plain lost and DSL keeps dropping off shipments meant for my address to a neighbor up the street whose house number in no way resembles mine, other than the street name.

Believe it or not, the most consistent, reliable, reasonable cost shipping has been, for me, the good old USPS shipments going Priority Mail.

I ship a lot of UPS for my business. 99.9% they are rock solid. Fedex Prioity/2 day is great too...Fedex Ground sucks, at least around here. They are a whole different division, many if not most are private contractors. Seems like they answer to no one.

+1. I've had better luck with USPS than anyone, although they screw up occasionally too.

I've had stuff destroyed by both FedEx and UPS. I once had an extensive go-round with UPS over a damaged pair of $2000 speakers, which they initially refused to pay for because "they weren't packed properly" - until I pointed out that they were in the original sealed factory packaging!

As far as FedEx Ground goes, many people have forgotten that that division used to be RPS (Roadway Package Service), which was hands-down the worst I've ever encountered.

Last thing I received (not) from UPS was an 8 foot long item (a sliding door track). A four foot long box arrived. I thought that maybe the track came in two pieces. I opened the box to discover that what I received was half a box with no contents. Fortunately the seller is going to ship me another one. I hope if the next shipment gets ripped in half that I'll get the half that has contents.

That is the reply I got from UPS when I had a problem too. Total BS.What the hell are we paying extra to insure an item for if they arent going to reimburse you anyway???????
