GP- "10 Acoustic Electrics Under $300"

... and no mention of Yamaha! Or Walden! I was a little disappointed. I would have taken out the Applause and the Silvertone (or maybe the Fender) and replaced them with a Yamaha and a Walden.

Under $300 is pretty cheap really. That is UK

I've never played a Walden, but I can't imagine there are 10 acoustic electrics under $300 that trump Yamaha's offerings.

 

I think Stackabones has it right.

Didn't really read the article, but it's apparent that at least two of the differently branded instruments were made in the same factory, judging by the appearance of the control panel.

That may not be a good indicator of manufacturer. There's zillions of small Asian guitar factories, but probably less than two dozen that make the electronics packages. You'll find virtually identical electronics in quite different guitars. Many come from Cort's electronics division, Cor-Tek, which can be found in a variety of brands manufactured by Cort, but also in others with no connection to Cort.
