I was wondering if anyone has opinions on Guild acoustic/electric guitars? I know someone selling their '99 Guild DCE5 for a reasonable price. How do these compare to the Taylor 314CE and 414Ce models (two Used for sale near me as well)? I would like to find something with a big sound and strong mids and lows since I play some bluegrass and flatpick as well as standard rock stuff. I've heard that the Taylors don't project well unless they are plugged in due to the smaller body.

Thanks,

R

I'd probably end up choosing almost any Guild instead of a Taylor, but that's just me.

If you're a bluegrasser who wants stronger lows, though, I don't think a Taylor will be your cup of tea. They fill a different sort of niche. But OTOH, you'd certainly stand out tonally in a bluegrass jam if you were playing a Taylor. :)
