Members Milorae Posted August 31, 2007 Members Posted August 31, 2007 Please, help me to find a perfect guitar for me! I checked tons of guitar sites and still trying to find something really good. Maybe you can give me advise? My specifications are: dreadnought with venetian cutaway top material solid spruce (high class) back material solid mahogany side material not really matters neck material mahogany fingerboard solid rosewood (indian maybe) nitrocellulose lacquer (maybe satin, its not really matters) good electronics on board, i thought about something like fishman aura ellipse onboard preamp (optionaly, i can install it myself), or really good pickup with preamp and high quality electronics price range is about 1000-1200 $ PS: I found Walden D2040EC - perfect for me! But this model was discontinued...
Members mike89914 Posted August 31, 2007 Members Posted August 31, 2007 if you're near a guitartrader or guitarcenter (i think?) try playing this guitarhttp://www.guitartrader.com/itm.icl?pid=59161&orderidentifier=icat_orderID satin finish but everything else is what you're looking for it sounded pretty nice. or try epiphone masterbilts. those are really good as well.
Members Milorae Posted August 31, 2007 Author Members Posted August 31, 2007 Thank you) I live in Russia, but I have +300 $ for shippment and a friend in US Maybe there is something else?
Members stratogabor Posted August 31, 2007 Members Posted August 31, 2007 Your exact requirements can be met with a 300 series Taylor. Guitar Rodeo here in the Twin Cities will give you a good price and service. Taylor has a new line I think, replacing the 300 series and you should find a good fit...
Members mike89914 Posted August 31, 2007 Members Posted August 31, 2007 Larrivee D-03E i think are a lot better guitars for that price range (only like 750 at most in stores) since you live in russia i don't think you can play them before yo ubuy them though unfortunately.
Members Milorae Posted August 31, 2007 Author Members Posted August 31, 2007 I can ask my friend to do that for me) We have exact taste for music and sound) So he can give me some comments
Members Tony Burns Posted September 1, 2007 Members Posted September 1, 2007 If you found a guitar you liked , but with no electrics a K+K mini is just under a hundred bucks - not to difficult to put in , compared to some acoustic electrics their as good or better ( thou most of the top end are a bit more sophisticated ) Larrivee are great guitars for the money, im also guessing that if you ever found something you liked more in the future youd have no problem selling them in Russia -- Ive heard American guitars sell for alot more their than here -Some of the lower end Larrivees are a steal for their price , and some of the mid to upper end are fantastic guitars ( I dont sell larrivees -I do own a OMv60 that i love ) The right seller will also set it up for you the way you want it before they ship it - just an idea ---
