Members DrBallard Posted September 10, 2007 Members Posted September 10, 2007 Hey there folks, I'm having a hard time to get that rhythm guitar like Jhonny Cash.Anyone have a video/info about it ? Would be great, thanks!
Members raggety Posted September 10, 2007 Members Posted September 10, 2007 I'm not usually much of a country player. but the way i approach this is like this. if i am playing a C major chord, my thumb will first play C on the fifth string and my index and second fingers will play the other notes on the 2nd and 3rd strings slightly after the thumb note and then my thimb will play the fourth string and the other notes again.. so you get this.. Duh-dum.... Duh-dum...Duh-dum.... feeling to your music (but if you use a pick you can still do it the same as using your fingers) and also i found the while thing works much better if you have someone playing the same chords but just playing them normally, so you can interplay against their chords.

Members rjoxyz Posted September 12, 2007 Members Posted September 12, 2007 Are we basically just talking about "boom-chicka, boom-chicka..." or a walking bass line Travis style?
