Members kwakatak Posted September 19, 2007 Members Posted September 19, 2007 Well, your technique looks solid and it appears that you have it memorized pretty well (not that I'd know though) so I'd say you're off to a solid start. There's still a ways to go with regards to pacing, tempo and dynamics. Once you get those down this will be pretty damned good though!
Members D For Kate Posted September 19, 2007 Members Posted September 19, 2007 ace! Have you always played with those long nails?
Members Sisyphus2 Posted September 19, 2007 Members Posted September 19, 2007 I really like that - its given me an idea for something new to learn too.
Members Lake Posted September 19, 2007 Author Members Posted September 19, 2007 ace! Have you always played with those long nails? The first 6 years I didn't play with nails, I played electric guitar and acoustics were only for strumming and sing along. Then I learned a little of classic guitar and my teacher told me to play with nails. Since that I always play with my nails (very strong nails), sometimes my nails are longer but other times are smaller. They need care and attention. If I cut my nails I fell insecure when I'm playing.
Members Dave W. Posted September 19, 2007 Members Posted September 19, 2007 +1 to what kawk said. Very nice, slow down the fast parts a bit. One of my favorite arrangements of my favorite song. Hint: when your are going nation wide, send the kids out to play
Members Glenn F Posted September 19, 2007 Members Posted September 19, 2007 May I ask which model Lakewood you're playing?
Members Lake Posted September 19, 2007 Author Members Posted September 19, 2007 May I ask which model Lakewood you're playing? My Lakewood is a 2003 M14 CP Custom, mahogany back and sides, cedar top and with a B band A6 pickup. In 2003 the only differences between my guitar a standard M 14 CP were the Florentine cutaway and binding in the headstock. Now they make a Lakewood M14 CP with no gloss finish (santin finish).

Ah, thanks! Do you live in Europe, 'cause these are German-made. I played a 12 string Lakewood a few weeks ago, and it was nice, but not
Members nylon rock Posted September 21, 2007 Members Posted September 21, 2007 There's a really nice little wing acoustic guitar on you tube. It's the one with the guy in his room with no shirt on, and he sings it, too. Best acoustic version I've ever heard.

Best acoustic version I've ever heard. here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9KIHzvMCE8 Love the one comment: "You could put a T shirt for doing such a thing please" another says that it's too "campfire guitar" for their tastes. As if they could do any better on an acoustic guitar while doing percussion while shirtless. Still... I can't abide looking at anyone else's hairy armpit for 2:48!
Members drnihili Posted September 21, 2007 Members Posted September 21, 2007 I think Tuck and Patti will always be the definitive version for me. But great job. I watched the OP video and thought "Someday I'd like to be able to play that".
