Members Verne Andru Posted September 26, 2007 Members Posted September 26, 2007 Got a chance to check out a Parker acoustic like this: Funky shape aside, it's a great sounding and playing acoustic. Didn't get a chance to plug it in, but the combo of a humbucker and under-saddle piezo with balanced out sure looks promising.
Members Stackabones Posted September 26, 2007 Members Posted September 26, 2007 I think they're kinda cool looking.
Members mister natural Posted September 26, 2007 Members Posted September 26, 2007 So love my solid body Parker - the fretboard alone . . . Covet one these new acoustics - just after I get a Gitano Django-style instrument . . .
Members Verne Andru Posted September 26, 2007 Author Members Posted September 26, 2007 I've been eying the Gitane's as well. AB'ed a 255 against a D-hole Gitano and liked the sound of the Gitano a bit better, although the 255 just feels like a Rolls Royce - spectacular instrument to play. This Parker sounds better to my ear and the factory electronics give it a bit of an edge for me. Only thing I don't like about the Parker is it's a bit narrow at the nut for the way I play - otherwise it would have probably followed me home.

I haven't played the 255, but I own the D500 and really dig it--I use it for GJ, acoustic jazz, blues, country, etc. I've also read great reviews about the Gitane Cigano series.
