Members guitarist21 Posted September 28, 2007 Members Posted September 28, 2007 -where the acoustic comes up "short" Here's my vote. Sounds thought-provoking. Ellen
Members Krash Posted September 28, 2007 Members Posted September 28, 2007 Don't encourage him, Ellen.
Members denvertrakker Posted September 28, 2007 Members Posted September 28, 2007 Hey, why not - D03nut's posts are like a high colonic for your brain....

Members Cripes Posted September 28, 2007 Members Posted September 28, 2007 choices are: -where the acoustic comes up "short" I've called it a lot of things but never "acoustic".

Members Krash Posted September 28, 2007 Members Posted September 28, 2007 ok cripes, "acousdick"....just for you.... Now there's something I understand.
Members Cripes Posted September 28, 2007 Members Posted September 28, 2007 Well, Sir Do-Thrice-of-Nut, soliciting for a topic is completely against the rules for mystery writing, which you seem keen to explore. I like searching for clues and it's completely irresponsible of you to change-step at this point.
Members d03nut Posted September 28, 2007 Author Members Posted September 28, 2007 "mysterious" chords?
Members riffmeister Posted September 28, 2007 Members Posted September 28, 2007 "mysterious" chords? not sure of the name, but I like it: 02404X .
Members flip333 Posted September 28, 2007 Members Posted September 28, 2007 Ok... -where the acoustic comes up "short" I wanna go try some short scale guitars to see how they feel. But not too short.
Members happy-man Posted September 28, 2007 Members Posted September 28, 2007 02404X Now I've got to go back in the lab where I've stashed my Aria and try it out. I'm actually working back in the lab today so it won't be too much of a productivity hit. I'm at my desk now with my after lunch espresso & cappuccino . Scott O ... that's eerie.
Members JasmineTea Posted September 29, 2007 Members Posted September 29, 2007 02404X.Halloween chord. How about just a nice minor 6? ...or better yet, E minor, F#7, A minor, E minor.
Members JasmineTea Posted September 29, 2007 Members Posted September 29, 2007 choices are: Rotten Tomatoes Rotten Onions Rotten Apples But most importantly WHY you choose which one to throw at a redundant, persistant, and very bad act who makes an easy target.
Members Terry Allan Hall Posted September 29, 2007 Members Posted September 29, 2007 I was hoping you'd give us a dissertation on which body style enhances your sex life the best (and wouldn't THAT make for a fun marketing campaign for Takamine? )
Members d03nut Posted September 30, 2007 Author Members Posted September 30, 2007 Rotten TomatoesRotten OnionsRotten ApplesBut most importantly WHY you choose which one to throw at a redundant, persistant, and very bad act who makes an easy target. god I'm so hoping that you don't mean that my thread is a "bad act" and "redundant", cuz I haven't really seen such a "poll" before in these parts. although I must admit that I do put myself "out there" quite often, and by that I mean at the mercy of fellow-forumites, "an easy target", if posters choose to be "cruel". such is the nature of my posts.....
Members Cripes Posted October 1, 2007 Members Posted October 1, 2007 So, where' this thread going or should we talk about what goes well with peanutbutter?
Members JasmineTea Posted October 1, 2007 Members Posted October 1, 2007 god I'm so hoping that you don't mean .....Nah. I had someone els in mind.
Members d03nut Posted October 2, 2007 Author Members Posted October 2, 2007 So, where' this thread going or should we talk about what goes well with peanutbutter? well Cripes, looks like the winner by "un-popular" demand is "where the acoustic falls short".... but I have to say that I'm rather disappointed. People just don't care about anything anymore. They had a "say" in my next thread, they could have pushed for the important issues. But no....Instead they stayed away in droves. Where's the youth, where's the next generation? It's like nobody cares about the future anymore, man...... I could say long live Esteban, but will anybody hear it? Do you know what I'm talkin'bout? Caring....
Members Cripes Posted October 2, 2007 Members Posted October 2, 2007 Soooo....what? You're expecting more? This place really isn't a showcase for mainstream profundity. It's not that the folks here can't swap thoughts at a higher plane, or won't delve deeper into the psyche of people as altered by their personal and collective musical experiences. It's a gear forum colored by the various characteristics (AKA opinions) of that gear and reactions to those characteristics. So, it's largely a staccato of quick questions looking for quick answers supported with relevant threads, posts and links. And, it comes down to, on averages, asking for the best for the least cost. Now, ask people a question about how they play during a blue moon and you're most likely gonna get mooned. And, it isn't because no one cares. It's just out of place. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes the timing is right, sometimes it isn't. The fact is you do not maintain that forum focus. You come in from the merge lane and try to move traffic over rather than find your spot to join in, which can be mundane and repetitive like traffic is by nature. True, no one needs to read your threads but they do and sometimes you win a certain audience and sometimes you don't. But, you're taking that chance, and you know it by now, so don't get ruffled by it and assume that no one cares when you get bad press or negative reactions. Plus, you can be on a reach while everyone else is on the downhill run.

Plus, you can be on a reach while everyone else is on the downhill run. well put. that said, my above post was so not serious. I realized after I posted it that maybe I needed to edit it in order to make that clear. Laziness and "itching for a little friction" stopped me "short". I was just POV-ing through some "junkie" character from your typical Hollywood movie imagining him getting all philosophical, trying to talk "meaning of life", while getting high/drunk. In fact, I'm quite happy with the "turnout" given the nature of my thread. Or threads, in general. Once again, the biggest problem with this kind of "communication" is that we can't see each other's faces, can't hear our "tone"... I was "play-acting....threading". My name is Tony Montana, I'm a political refugee.... The above reference is not to be interpreted as a "political statement". Oh god, I'm getting deeper & deeper in it........
Members DonK Posted October 2, 2007 Members Posted October 2, 2007 Quantum Mechanics and the Art of the Novel. I was interviewing a college student for a job a few years ago - she was about to graduate - and I asked her what her favorite college course had been. This was the name of the course. About what I'd expect from academia today. Anyway, you could change Novel to "Playing the Guitar" and you'd really have something!
