They said it will be down 12 to 24 hours....

If it's like the last time:

That means 2 or 3 days of down time in real time.

It also means the forum will have technical issues for weeks or months.

Yep this 'forum' technology is cutting edge stuff. They are still working out the kinks in it apparently. I wish they had some freeware with rock solid forums already built that can just be applied to the server... hmmmm

I'm going to crawl into my bear cave and hibernate until the HC virtual thaw has arrived. Then we will all re-emerge and discover that Hud's signature has been copied and pasted into all of our sigs.

Search won't work and somebody will suggest suing Harmony Central.

Pretty soon someone will ask, "what's the best guitar for under $45?"

After a while a troll will appear and the forum will be divided between those intent on attacking and killing him, and others who favor ignoring him, since all he wants is attention.

Soon, a noobie will wander in and start a thread on Elixirs.

Whalebot will return from wherever he's been holing up, and he'll be looking for a new guitar.

As the presidential race heats up, somebody will post a political comment. Baba will explain one more time why this might not be a real good place for that.

Knockwood is past due for one of his novelettes and before long, he will favor us with one of those. Freeman begins building a parlor, posting photobucket images of the work-in-progress for us, and continue serving up sound advice, while ignoring the rest of the nonsense that goes on here. G6120 will link us up to a nice new youtube neil young cover.

What was the question?

My one and only political comment, recycled but still valid:

"Politicians and diapers should be changed often - and for the same reason."

And you forgot one, Queg - maybe Clippity will suddenly reappear, with finished versions of songs for the CD.....

Yikes! I feel like we are characters in a play.

I think I'll just play my guitar. If I used the time I spend on HC to practise, why . . . I'd probably be the best guitarist in the whole world.

Excellent job Queequeg!

Although, I think G6120 is playing all Tom Waits covers now. I never got into Tom Waits, because he voice sounds like the Cookie Monster after smoking 3 packs of Camels a day.

The only thing you forgot is that someone will have a Taylor vs. Martin thread and i'm sure since we haven't had one in awhile there will be a "should I get a Zager" thread as well.

Hud, Hud, Hud .... Forget his raspy voice; the guy is a songwriting genius! The problem with Tom Waits is that he has written so many songs in so many genres that it is easy to get turned off to him because of a particular genre. This is the man who wrote Ol' 55, The Heart of Saturday Night, Georgia Lee, The Briar and the Rose, I Hope The I Don't Fall In Love With You, Tom Traubert's Blues, Martha, Closing Time, Jesus Gonna Be Here, I Don't Wanna Grow Up, and a zillion more. Please check him out. Tom Truabert's Blues, Ol' 55 and Martha would all convince you to give him another chance. His stuff is all on iTunes.

But, of course, YMMV. (I said it but I don't want to believe it.)
