Members millenium_03 Posted October 5, 2007 Members Posted October 5, 2007 I've built myself an guitar wall hanger. I hang 6 guitars on it. I've in an another threat that string give an tension to the neck. Did hanging them on wall hanger will give more tension to my guitars ??? I use Hercules hanger. So I can put them in angle or front face... And they lock automaticaly when I put them back.
Members Queequeg Posted October 5, 2007 Members Posted October 5, 2007 I am assuming you refer to hanging them from the neck where it meets the headstock in the typical fashion.Hanging instruments on the wall does not increase tension. In fact, retailers would not display their inventory in this manner if that was the case.
Members millenium_03 Posted October 5, 2007 Author Members Posted October 5, 2007 Ouuff okay... that is what I was assuming.
Members ESL94 Posted October 5, 2007 Members Posted October 5, 2007 Ouuff okay... that is what I was assuming. Looks great... A good way to display your guitars. Nice collection.
Members Justin Smith Posted October 5, 2007 Members Posted October 5, 2007 millenium_03, that's a nice looking hanger. I am preparing to move and am planning on hanging all of my guitars in my study. Not to make you worry, but do you have any concerns about that vent right above your headstocks? Do you think that the difference in temperature between the ambient and force air will cause any tuning problems?
Members Stackabones Posted October 5, 2007 Members Posted October 5, 2007 Ouuff okay... that is what I was assuming. That Washburn looks delicious!

Do you think that the difference in temperature between the ambient and force air will cause any tuning problems? I had several of my acoustics hanging year around near the heating/air conditioning vent in the room I used to have them in and had no issues whatsoever with tuning, staying in tune, & etc. My locale is SoCal.
Members Freeman Keller Posted October 6, 2007 Members Posted October 6, 2007 That is a beautiful collection and I like the hanger idea much better than displaying them on stands. I just hope you are maintaining the humidity in that room as any good shop that displays their wares on hangers will do.
Members millenium_03 Posted October 9, 2007 Author Members Posted October 9, 2007 The main purpose that I hang my guitars is because, before I used to have them all on stands... but I have a little girl 2 years old and she was playing around them and touching them. So beforre something happen to my precious, I've the idea to put them high, so now she can't touch them. Did'nt want to put them in case.
