Members timmay8612 Posted October 10, 2007 Members Posted October 10, 2007 Any suggestions (with prices if possible) on aftermarket electronics? I have experience with built in fishman, but prefer baggs. I've never installed one myself. Tips? Thanks!
Members garthman Posted October 11, 2007 Members Posted October 11, 2007 If you go for an on-board EQ preamp (and LR Baggs make very good ones), unless you are good at DIY take it to some-one who is, because you have to cut holes in your guitar. You can get off-board preamps that just connect into the jack cable so this could be an option for you.
Members Terry Allan Hall Posted October 11, 2007 Members Posted October 11, 2007 Go w/ the outboard preamp...cutting a barndoor into the side of your guitar is quite a bit trickier than it looks, if you want your guitar to survive the experience, longterm! Besides, you don't need controls on your instrument...tone and volume can be adjusted acoustically...
