Members moctzal Posted October 14, 2007 Members Posted October 14, 2007 Well, normally the dread is the quintessential strummer's guitar. However you should play both and decide for yourself. Many guitarists play many styles on all sort of guitars.
Members Stackabones Posted October 15, 2007 Members Posted October 15, 2007 The dread doesn't do it for me ... But I think the Concert is pure sex! All those curves.
Members Cripes Posted October 15, 2007 Members Posted October 15, 2007 I've played a few Washburns. Nice guitars. It's one of those makes that leave you thinking there's no reason to pay more for a high-end and get little in the offing.

Members guitarist21 Posted October 15, 2007 Members Posted October 15, 2007 Well if you like fingerpicking AND "heavy" strumming, you're probably better off with the dread. Like moctzal said, you really ought to play both and pick one, but if I had to choose one for you right now I'd pick the dread. Many small-bodied guitars compress significantly under heavy strumming and sound bad. My Epi Masterbilt can take up to what I would call medium-heavy strumming before it compresses like crazy. I bought it because I found it to handle strumming better than many other small-bodied guitars. Ellen
Members T.B. Posted October 15, 2007 Members Posted October 15, 2007 Yeah, I would think the dread would be a better fit for picking and heavy strumming. Trina
