Members guitarist21 Posted October 22, 2007 Members Posted October 22, 2007 I found a guy on the Pheonix (that's right, ARIZONA) Craigslist that would rather have sold locally but I think recognized that I really, really wanted this amp. $215 including shipping. I'll post pics when I get it (he's shipping it tomorrow), but what do you guys think? Did I get a good deal, assuming the amp is functional? Ellen

Members Simon76 Posted October 22, 2007 Members Posted October 22, 2007 Excellent! If you happen to know some one that has an Electric Upright Bass I'd like to know how that sounds through it.
Members moctzal Posted October 22, 2007 Members Posted October 22, 2007 Sounds like a helluva good deal to me.I would have done it.

You might be in luck. I just met someone who's willing to lend me her upright (I need one for sessions ALL the time) and she lives right next door to me! I'll see what I can do when I get it. Ellen
Members Stackabones Posted October 22, 2007 Members Posted October 22, 2007 Is this a busking amp or a ... ?
Members Samilyn Posted October 22, 2007 Members Posted October 22, 2007 Hey, Ellen I don't know diddly about amps, but if these guys here say you scored good, then I'll take their word for it. Congrats! You GO, Girl!!!!! Samilyn
Members guitarist21 Posted October 22, 2007 Author Members Posted October 22, 2007 Is this a busking amp or a ... ? Gigging amp. I don't need an amp for busking right now, but if I did, my little Crate bass amp will probably be sufficient. The busking I'm doing is mostly me and my buddy just rocking out and singing occasionally, so we don't really need amps so much. Plus, the louder you are around here, the more you attract police, which I don't want to do. Ellen
Members daklander Posted October 22, 2007 Members Posted October 22, 2007 $215.00 shipped is killer. Being optimistic that the amp is in good to great condition, I think you're going to pat yourself on the back for that purchase.
Members AugTPD Posted October 22, 2007 Members Posted October 22, 2007 I call good deal on that one. I'm sure you'll love it. Carvin makes quality audio equipment for sure!
Members OldGuitarPlayer Posted October 22, 2007 Members Posted October 22, 2007 Cool...I'd say you got a VERY good deal If I had a vehicle and one miraculously appeared in Canada used and for sale for $215 I would snatch it up right away! Since I don't have a car I am looking for something smaller and more lightweight. At least I live within bus distance of any gig I do but hauling a 100 watt amp on the bus would be a problem. I have a feeling a 100 watt amp is not going to be in the 20-25lb range. I know you will keep us posted as soon as it arrives.
Members daklander Posted October 22, 2007 Members Posted October 22, 2007 .....I have a feeling a 100 watt amp is not going to be in the 20-25lb range. No, but the AG100 is under 40 lbs. Oh, Ellen....in case you weren't aware, that amp has a speaker mount on the bottom so you can get the amp in the air for the venues you need to, and there is also a matching extension speaker enclosure that connects in series so you'll be able to add speaker area though because it's in series you'd drop power out but still have enough for coffee shops and the like.
Members 0rbitz9 Posted October 23, 2007 Members Posted October 23, 2007 Sounds like a great deal to me. I've got a couple of Carvin amps that I'm very happy with. One is a PB110 bass amp that works great for recording sessions. I recently bought a TS100 stereo tube power amp for my rack mount guitar rig that's worked out wonderfully as well. I can't imagine that you'll be dissapointed with that amp.
