Members EvilTwin Posted October 29, 2007 Members Posted October 29, 2007 I played an Alvarez RD20SSB this weekend. It's the first slope-shouldered dread I've seen in this price range, and it was AMAZING. $220. I almost wanted to buy it, but I can't justify it with my Guild needing some love. But there is some serious mojo with that type of guitar/body style. Lots of power.
Members DeepEnd Posted October 30, 2007 Members Posted October 30, 2007 . . . Humbling what a quality guitarist can with a basic guitar can do, and he was clearly greatly taken with it... So true. I could go out and buy a Guild/Martin/Taylor/whatever but my playing wouldn't improve. OTOH, I know that a guitarist who knew his/her way around a fretboard could really make my little Ibanez sing.
