Im looking to get one of these. Has anyone had any problems with this guitar? Anyone want to get rid of one/know where to get the best deal on one...?

Noel is right the battery time on these are absurdly low. I have the OMC-AURA and love it. The only "problem" I have had to speak of is that I can't string it with Elixar Nano's. The "G" String breaks after one hour of play. I don't know where to get the best deal on one in Cali I picked up mine from a local shop here in Boston used for 1500.

I've heard good things about the Aura guitars but I personally would rather purchase, say, an OM-21 without a pickup built in so that I could put in an after market pickup system of my choice.

Normally I would agree but the Martin Aura series are a little different. The Fishman Aura line has "Images" where they take a Miced Acoustic and re-create the sound of it Miced. they do this too a couple different high end mices in at a couple different distances.

What is great about the Martin Aura line is that they make a special version of these "Images" for your model guitar. So the pickup is tailor made for your specific model guitar which as far as I know is unique to this line of Acoustics.

I'm just not comfortable with Martin cutting a large square hole in the upper bout for the preamp on those things. Given the accelerated state of electronics evolution, I wonder about the wisdom of having something like that in a fine, all-solid-wood guitar. I think I'm with Guitarist21 on this one...

I didn't know this, that's pretty cool. So let me rephrase, then. If you love the plugged-sound AND the acoustic sound, then the purchase of that guitar will be totally worth it.
