Members yisrael42 Posted November 1, 2007 Members Posted November 1, 2007 The song, "In Time" by Mark Collie is an awesome song to cover on an acoustic... I can't figure out what tabs and tuning he uses though... i have found some really confusing tabs of the song. The one that has seemed best is just regular drop d... any thoughts?
Members Simon76 Posted November 1, 2007 Members Posted November 1, 2007 I've never heard it. Got a link?

Members guitarist21 Posted November 1, 2007 Members Posted November 1, 2007 Sounds to me like he's in Drop D chugging out a basic D minor chord most of the time. Occasionally a G major thrown in there. Is that the whole song or just part of it? Ellen
Members yisrael42 Posted November 1, 2007 Author Members Posted November 1, 2007 Its the first verse and the chorus... it just has a really cool western/pulp movie feel to it and it has a dark Johnny Cash style sound to it. I really like it. there is also a C in there somewhere, but good ear!
Members Bitt81 Posted November 1, 2007 Members Posted November 1, 2007 Drop D sounds about right. Other than that, there's a G and C...isn't too hard to figure out. The part where he strums kind of a couple of furious simple chord progressions, you can throw in pretty much anything that sounds good including an Am. Simple but dark song.
Members yisrael42 Posted November 1, 2007 Author Members Posted November 1, 2007 If you search tabs for the song, some of them are in DADGAD tuning and then the fingerings are strange... like you guys, i find it pretty stupid to go through all that effort when it sounds really good with drop d. but anyway, I just thought I'd share it... I think its a cool open mic song.
